£16 Million Contract for Night Vision Goggles

Instro Precision Technologies has been awarded a substantial contract worth £16 million (approximately $20 million) to provide the British Armed Forces with additional XACT nv33 compact Night Vision Goggles (NVGs). This contract marks a significant step in enhancing the operational capabilities of the military, following the successful delivery of 3,500 NVGs to British forces. The latest agreement will unfold in phases, as outlined by the Kent-based subsidiary of Elbit Systems UK in an official announcement.

Martin Fausset, CEO of Elbit Systems UK, expressed pride in the company’s achievements, stating, “Our success in supplying NVGs to the UK Armed Forces is a direct result of the investment we have made here in the UK.” He emphasized the company’s commitment to equipping troops with state-of-the-art technology that ensures they maintain a critical operational advantage.

Enhanced Capabilities of the XACT nv33 NVGs

The XACT nv33 Night Vision Goggles are designed to significantly improve troop capabilities during low-light and no-light operations. These advanced NVGs provide substantial operational benefits, allowing soldiers to navigate and engage effectively in challenging environments. The compact and lightweight design ensures ease of use, especially when mounted on helmets.

Key features of the XACT nv33 include extended battery life and improved image quality, which are crucial for sustained missions. The design minimizes line of sight deviation, facilitating one-handed operation, which is particularly valuable in combat scenarios. Moreover, the goggles are equipped with tilt activation for distraction-free use and adhere to MIL-STD 810 standards, ensuring durability and reliability under various conditions.
