Saab Secures Colombian Navy Frigate Contract
Saab has successfully secured a significant contract to furnish the Colombian Navy’s latest frigate with cutting-edge management systems, sensors, and radar technology. This deal entails the provision of the 9LV Combat Management System and the 9LV Fire Control System, integral components of Colombia’s Plataforma Estratégica de Superficie frigate program. As part of this agreement, Saab will also deliver advanced systems including the Ceros 200 radar, the EOS 500 electro-optical fire control director, and Sea Giraffe 4A radars.
The construction of the frigate will be undertaken by Colombian shipbuilder COTECMAR, with Damen Naval providing essential engineering, technical support, and shipbuilding materials. The delivery of this state-of-the-art vessel is anticipated for the year 2030, marking a significant advancement in Colombia’s naval capabilities.
