Russia Plans Military Helicopter Hub in Peru
Rosoboronexport has unveiled plans to establish a dedicated maintenance and repair center for Russian military helicopters in Peru. This announcement was made by Alexander Mikheev, the general director of the state-owned company, who emphasized that the hub will focus on servicing the Mi helicopter series, which is currently in operation with Russian Armed Forces and their partners, including countries from the former Soviet Union.
According to Mikheev, this infrastructure project, developed under the contract with Rosoboronexport, is set to open in the near future. This facility will ensure that all Latin American nations utilizing Russian-made helicopters can maintain their airworthiness effectively. However, specific details regarding the location of the new service center and additional operational aspects have not yet been disclosed.
