Estonia Launches Military UAV Training Center

Estonia has officially opened its inaugural military unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) training center in the northern village of Nurmsi. This new facility aims to bolster drone operations and related activities for the Defence Forces, Defence League, and allied military units present in Estonia for various operations and exercises.

The center features a modern three-story design that encompasses 1,300 square meters (approximately 13,993 square feet) of space. Among its highlights is a striking glass tower that provides a panoramic view of the surroundings. Inside, the complex is well-equipped with classrooms, storage areas, maintenance bays, accommodations for personnel, sanitation facilities, and areas for relaxation. The center’s construction began in 2021, funded entirely by Luxembourg, at an estimated cost of about 5 million euros (around $5.6 million), and was built by Järva County’s Paide MEK AS.
