Aster Missiles: France, Italy, and UK Order Additional 218
In a significant development for European defense, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom have reached an agreement to procure an additional 218 Aster missiles. The contract, signed by the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) with defense manufacturer MBDA and the consortium EUROSAM, is a response to the growing security needs of the three nations. This new order will bolster the existing missile capabilities and expedite the delivery of previously ordered systems.
The agreement encompasses the production of Aster 30 B1 missiles, specifically designed for France and Italy’s SAMP/T NG air defense systems, as well as naval defense systems for all three countries. Additionally, the contract includes Aster 15 missiles, which will be integrated into the French Navy’s arsenal. Capabilities of the Aster Missiles
