Indonesia Orders Bayraktar TB3 Drones

Indonesia has officially ordered 60 Bayraktar TB3 drones from Turkey as part of its efforts to bolster its military capabilities. The contract was finalized during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s recent visit to Jakarta, where the agreement was signed between Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar and the Indonesian defense firm Republikorp. This significant deal is a result of ongoing discussions aimed at enhancing trade and defense relations between the two nations.

The procurement of these drones marks a pivotal moment for Indonesia, as it will become the first foreign operator of the Bayraktar TB3 drones. This acquisition follows a broader agreement between Turkey and Indonesia that includes plans for a joint venture to develop advanced unmanned aerial systems (UAS), further solidifying their strategic partnership.
