New Partnership for Counter-Drone Technologies
Weibel Scientific, a prominent Danish company, has announced a strategic partnership with Estonian firm DefSecIntel Solutions. This collaboration aims to integrate advanced radar systems with state-of-the-art counter-drone technologies. By joining forces, both companies are poised to enhance their presence in crucial defense markets, particularly in Ukraine, as well as within European procurement frameworks and NATO security initiatives.
The partnership is focused on leveraging Weibel’s cutting-edge X-band radars within DefSecIntel’s EIRSHIELD system. This integration is designed to boost counter-drone capabilities and provide ultra-short-range air defense solutions. According to Jaanus Tamm, the CEO of DefSecIntel Solutions, this collaboration is pivotal in ensuring that “European defense solutions remain independent, innovative, and tailored to meet genuine operational demands.”
Accelerated Development and Integration Efforts
To expedite the integration of these systems, a specialized team has been formed, focusing on research and technology development. This dedicated group aims to facilitate a swift and cost-effective production process for the combined technologies. Peter Røpke, CEO of Weibel Scientific, emphasized that this partnership allows them to extend their expertise into a comprehensive defense ecosystem, ultimately leading to the creation of scalable and effective defense solutions for both European and global challenges.
