Iraq Signs $118 Million F-16 Support Contract
Iraq has officially entered into a $118 million support contract with Vectrus Systems aimed at enhancing its F-16 fighter jets capabilities. At the moment of signing, Iraq made an initial payment of $57.8 million, fully funded by the Iraqi government. The operations related to this contract will be centered at Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base located in southern Iraq, with an expected completion date set for November 2026.

According to reports by Shafaq News Agency, the Iraqi Air Force currently operates 34 F-16C/D fighter jets, which are manufactured by Lockheed Martin. To ensure effective maintenance and logistics support for these aircraft, Iraq relies heavily on American contractors.
