Poseidon H10 MkIII Drone: Ukraine’s Advanced UAS Unveiled
Ukraine has officially introduced its latest unmanned aerial system (UAS), the Poseidon H10 MkIII, aimed at significantly boosting reconnaissance operations in combat zones. This advanced drone, which was initially contracted for testing purposes in 2022, integrates state-of-the-art technology, such as a high-resolution camera and a thermal imager, enabling it to perform effectively across a range of operational environments.
Built to withstand the rigors of electronic warfare, the Poseidon H10 MkIII is specifically designed for frontline deployment, where the threat of Russian jamming is a constant concern. The drone’s autonomous capabilities allow it to navigate around dangers and safely return to its base, even under adverse weather conditions. Recently, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense granted formal approval for its operational use.
Enhanced Features and Performance
The Poseidon H10 MkIII is powered by a robust electric motor, allowing it to soar to impressive altitudes of up to 5,000 meters (16,404 feet). With the ability to fly at speeds reaching 150 kilometers (93 miles) per hour and an operational range of 150 kilometers, this drone is poised to enhance military effectiveness. Deputy Defense Minister Dmytro Klimenkov noted, “The aircraft is equipped with electric engines and a modern navigation system, which enables it to function in extreme temperatures ranging from −20°C to +45°C, even in strong winds.”
The drone’s battery life supports several hours of continuous operation, making it a reliable asset in the field. Its operational altitude places it beyond the reach of many enemy air defense systems, making it especially valuable for counteroffensive missions. By assisting ground forces in identifying and neutralizing threats more efficiently, the Poseidon H10 MkIII is set to play a critical role in Ukraine’s ongoing military efforts.
