Rohde & Schwarz Partners with ELT Group for Naval Solutions
Rohde & Schwarz has announced a strategic partnership with ELT Group to provide electronic warfare components for the German Navy’s F124 class frigates and the Polish Navy’s new Miecznik class multirole frigates. This collaboration marks a significant advancement in naval defense technology, as both companies bring their expertise to enhance maritime security.
Last year, the Munich-based firm was tasked with delivering and integrating communications systems, radar electronic support measures, and radar countermeasures for three of the German F124 frigates. Simultaneously, the contract with the Polish Navy encompasses the provision of similar systems for the three Miecznik vessels.
Strengthening Capabilities through Collaboration
According to Rohde & Schwarz, this partnership leverages ELT Group’s capacity to deliver high-quality solutions that align with their stringent technical and commercial standards. The collaboration is further strengthened by the synergies between the product portfolios of both companies, allowing for an effective integration of advanced technologies.
As part of this agreement, Rohde & Schwarz will supply naval communications and radar electronic support measures specifically designed for the Miecznik multirole frigates. This includes the deployment of their KORA 40 family of systems, which are essential for modern naval operations.
Advanced Technology with KORA 40 Systems
The KORA 40 systems are known for their ability to provide continuous detection, identification, tracking, and analysis of complex radar emissions and communication signals. This advanced technology enables naval forces to maintain a comprehensive real-time situational awareness across the electromagnetic spectrum, significantly enhancing operational effectiveness.
With high sensitivity and extended range capabilities, the integrated KORA 40 system equips naval vessels with the necessary tools to respond to diverse threats effectively. This technology not only supports defense initiatives but also ensures the safety and security of maritime operations.
A Testament to Successful Collaboration
Alexander Philipp, managing director of Rohde & Schwarz Vertriebs-GmbH, expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing collaboration, stating, “We are continuing our successful collaboration from the F126 project and look forward to a trustworthy partnership.” This sentiment underscores the mutual trust and commitment that has developed between Rohde & Schwarz and ELT Group.
Philipp further emphasized that the contributions from ELT Group have significantly improved the established R&S KORA solution. This latest contract is regarded as a major milestone in the partnership between the two firms and showcases the importance of German-Italian defense cooperation.
