Introduction to TerraNEX
The Portuguese company EID has unveiled a new tactical integrated communication system designed specifically for military applications. Known as TerraNEX, this innovative device is intended for installation in military vehicles or fixed infrastructures, enhancing communication capabilities on the battlefield.
Offering customization options, TerraNEX integrates seamlessly into the communication networks of armed forces, operates with IP-based functionalities, and can pair with various network management tools and audio systems. Its deployment aims to facilitate effective coordination and secure communications among military units.
Successful Testing with the Portuguese Army
Last month, EID conducted a successful demonstration of TerraNEX in collaboration with the Portuguese Army at Santa Margarida. The tests validated the system’s capabilities, showcasing its support for multiple radio systems and waveforms, as well as its ability to access secure military internet and relay information to soldier-equipped systems.
Additionally, TerraNEX was installed in the Portuguese Army’s Pandur 8×8 wheeled armored vehicles and an M577 armored personnel carrier. These simulations were crucial in assessing the system’s performance in mobile platforms, highlighting its versatility in dynamic military operations.
