Royal Netherlands Navy Tests Tomahawk Cruise Missile

In a significant advancement for its military capabilities, the Royal Netherlands Navy has successfully conducted a test launch of a Tomahawk cruise missile from its frigate, HNLMS De Ruyter. This launch marks the first time the Netherlands has tested the missile, aiming to gather crucial information on its operational integration. The event took place off the coast of Norfolk, USA, under the guidance of the US Navy, reflecting strong international military collaboration.

The test is part of a strategy to equip the De Zeven Provincien-class frigate with the powerful missile system. Currently, only the Royal Navy operates the Tomahawk in Europe, making this development a notable step for the Dutch Navy as it enhances its long-range strike capabilities.
