Strengthening Defense: Trophy Active Protection System Integrated with Patria AMV XP

EuroTrophy has partnered with Patria to incorporate the Trophy Active Protection System (APS) into the Patria AMV XP 8×8 armored vehicle. This cutting-edge system is tailored for a variety of combat scenarios, proficient in handling simultaneous attacks and providing real-time responses during engagements. By integrating Trophy APS, the AMV XP significantly boosts its defenses against threats such as anti-tank guided missiles, rocket-propelled grenades, small drones, and other anti-armor weaponry.

Beyond its defensive capabilities, Trophy APS equips troops with critical situational awareness. The system not only identifies the source of enemy fire but also relays essential information regarding its direction and distance to the crew. This feature empowers the crew to either engage the target using onboard weapons or to communicate the enemy’s location through the battle management system, enabling a coordinated counter-response with allied units.

Operational Versatility Across Various Environments

The Trophy APS is designed to support operations across a range of environments, from arid deserts to urban landscapes and even icy terrains. This adaptability makes the system invaluable to armed forces operating in challenging conditions, ensuring effective defense and operational readiness.

EuroTrophy emphasized the maturity of the AMV XP and Trophy integration, stating it provides a robust solution for potential customers. Both systems have already proven their effectiveness in active service with NATO forces and have been updated to meet the challenges posed by current and future threats, particularly in Arctic operations.

Showcasing Innovation at Patria’s Arctic Events

In March, the collaboration was highlighted with the unveiling of the first demonstrator vehicle during Patria’s Arctic Events in Rovaniemi, Finland. Officials from various countries attended the event to witness the capabilities of the AMV XP fitted with Trophy APS, showcasing a significant advancement in armored vehicle technology.

This demonstration marks a pivotal moment for EuroTrophy and Patria, as the integration not only reflects technological progress but also a strategic move to enhance defense mechanisms suitable for diverse operational theaters.

Global Adoption of Trophy APS by Armored Forces

The Trophy APS is gaining traction worldwide, with numerous armed forces opting to equip their armored vehicles with this advanced system. Notably, Germany’s KNDS Deutschland entered into a contract with EuroTrophy for the delivery of 123 Trophy APS units, intended for the modernization of the Leopard 2A8 main battle tanks.

Additionally, in 2023, the UK Ministry of Defense awarded Rafael a substantial contract worth $26 million for testing the Trophy APS on the new Challenger 3 tank. This underscores the growing recognition of the system’s importance in enhancing the survivability and operational effectiveness of armored units.
