Ukraine’s Defense Export Strategy: An Overview
Ukraine is gearing up to export its advanced military technology, focusing particularly on drones, missiles, and potentially artillery systems, to its European allies. President Volodymyr Zelensky recently unveiled the “Build with Ukraine” program. This initiative aims to establish local defense production facilities in partner countries throughout Europe, allowing them access to Ukraine’s innovative defense technologies.
Among the nations expressing interest in the program are Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Norway, and the United Kingdom. Moreover, Ukraine may extend its defense exports to non-European countries that support its drone and missile production initiatives. However, technology transfers to Russia and its allies remain firmly off the table, a critical point in combating ongoing threats amid the war with Russia.
